1st John 2:15-17
Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.

Wow rather simple love the world and the things of the world and go to hell, or love the Lord and His ways and go to Heaven this should not be a heard diction but for most it is a daily struggle and it looks like it is a struggle that many in the church loos every day.

Not only do they need the latest gadget but the need the biggest shiniest home and vehicle the latest clothing, the most toys, always talking about what they have and don’t have, (it amazes me how many Christians talk about how much money they don’t have) if money wasn’t their god, wasn’t the love of their lives, they would not speak so much of it but instead would be speaking of the love of Christ and His love for them and the people around them.

The church today looks to be concerned about the things of this world rather than the things of God. Things they have and things they don’t have but are striving to get.

This world is not my home i am just a passing through heading home to be with my Lord, there is nothing here i am taking with me when i leave and there is nothing here that is more valuable than being with my Lord.

Don’t make things in this world so important that you miss out on a relationship with Christ your Lord and salvation.

“Do not love the world nor the things in the world”
but instead turn your love and affection and devotion to the Lord Jesus.
