Study to show you’re self-approved of God.
1. Stay away from ungodly worldly vane babbling
2. Let everyone who calls on the name of Christ run from sin
3. Run from the lust of your youth and follow after righteousness
4. Run towards faith, love and peace with those who call upon the Lord with a pure heart
5. Stay away from and refuse to be part of foolish speculative questions, because they produce strife
6. Learn to be gentle to all men
7. We are to withstand the evil when we are wronged
8. We are to Study to show your self approved of God.
9. We are to stay away from ungodly worldly vane babbling
10. We are to call on the name of the Lord and run from sin.
11. We are to run from the lust of our youth and follow after righteousness
12. We are to run towards faith, love and peace with those who call upon the Lord with a pure heart
13. We are to stay away from and refuse to be part of foolish speculative questions, because they produce strife
14. We are to learn to be gentle to all men
15. We are to withstand the evil when we are wronged
16. We are to be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

And the things you have heard from me, the same things teach to faithful men, which will be able to teach others also.
Part 3
Hebrews 3: 17-19 and 4:1-16
17 But with who was he displeased for forty years? Was he not displeased with those that sinned, whose carcasses fell in the wilderness?
18 And to who did He swear they will not enter into his rest, those that did not obey Him.
19 So we see that they could not enter in, because of unbelief.
So if we are to enter in to the Lords peace we have the great need of first believing in Him and believing He will fulfill what He has told us He will do. And we must obey His word
4:1-16
1 Let us fear therefore, that at any time by forsaking the promise of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to be deprived of His rest.
2 For to us was the Gospel preached as also to them: but the word that they heard, did not profit them, because it was not mixed with faith in those that heard it.
3 For we who have believed, do enter into rest, as he said to all, “As I have sworn in my wrath, those who do not believe will never enter into my rest” Although His works were finished from the foundation of the world
4 He spoke in a certain place of the seventh day in this way, “And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.”
5 And in this place He also said, “If they will enter into my rest.
6 Seeing therefore it remained that some must still enter in, and they to whom it was first preached, didn’t enter in to rest on the seventh day do to unbelief:
7 Again he appointed in David a certain day, Today, after so long a time, saying, as it is said, this day, if you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts.
8 For if Jesus had given them rest; then would he not after this have spoken of another day.
9 There remains therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, has also ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11 For that reason let us study to enter into that rest, to not fallow after the same example of disobedience.
12 For the word of God is lively, and mighty in operation, and sharper than any two edged sword, and piercing as far as to dividing apart the soul and the spirit, and the joints, and the marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts, and the intentions of the heart.
13 Neither is there any creature, which is not visible in his sight: but all things are naked and open to His eyes, with whom we have to account to.
14 Seeing then that we have a great high Priest, which is entered into heaven; that is Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
15 For we have not an high Priest, which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but was in all things tempted in such manners, yet without sin.
16 Let us therefore go boldly to the throne of grace; that we may receive mercy, and find grace to help in times of need.

First Conclusion;
1. God was displeased for forty years with those that sinned.
2. He swore they will not enter into his rest
And He showed us that they could not enter in, because of unbelief.
3. if we are to enter in to the Lords peace we have the great need of first believing in Him and believing He will fulfill what He has told us He will do. And we must also obey His word
In faith believing what the Lord God has spoken we can enter into His rest, just as he said, His rest is the Sabbath the seventh day, “And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.”
“As I have sworn in my wrath, those who do not believe will never enter into my rest”
4. This day, if you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts.
5. The one that is entered into the Lords rest has also ceased from doing his own works, as God did from his.
For that reason let us study to enter into that rest, and not fallow after the world.

The word of God; Jesus Christ is
1. Lively,
2. Mighty in operation,
3. Sharper than any two edged sword,
4. Capable of dividing apart the soul from the spirit,
5. Capable of dividing apart the joints from the marrow,
6. a discerner of the thoughts,
7. Capable of knowing the intentions of the heart.
8. Capable of knowing all creatures, even those not visible in His sight
For all things are naked and open to Christ eyes, whom we have to account to.

Seeing then that Jesus our great high Priest, has entered into heaven; let us hold fast our profession of faith in Him.
We do not have a high Priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, for He Himself was tempted in all things, and in such manners, yet He did not sin.

So let us go boldly to the throne of grace; that we may receive mercy, and find grace to help in our times of need.

Second Conclusion;
The Lord has told us to not work on the Sabbath, but how many of us do? i know i did for years and gained nothing of value. 11 say’s therefore study to enter in to that rest, to not do so is disobedience.

And we are told the word of God can separate our soles from our body and that God can see everything we do even our thoughts and motives. But in 16 says we can go boldly to the throne of grace and receive mercy.

So sense He can see everything we do and knows our thoughts and motives, studding to know how we are truly supposed to live seems to be a good thing so we do not fall on to sin.

tomorrow we start in Thessalonians
