Definition of survival, or surviving

First thing we need to do is give a true meaningful definition of surviving, and how and what surviving means to a Christian.

We have two different plans of survival; the one that most of us think about is surviving everyday life food, drink, clothing, shelter, being safe and well, having enough of what we think we need. And because of this we store up food, weapons and invest in a 401k, gold and silver, thinking this will save us from a collapse of society, or a flood or earthquake.

But as a Christian surviving should mean so much more, making it into heaven, hearing those words “enter in My good and faithful servant”.

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:21

You do not need tactical training you need biblical training, for biblical training will take care of both avenues in the terms of surviving or survival.

As a true follower of Christ or the more common and worn-out term used, “a Christian” we have no real need of tactical survival training, if we would take the word of our Lord and Savior to heart and believe on and in Him, have faith in Him, trust Him, obey Him, serve and follow after Him; if we did these things with a whole heart all of our needs would be supplied for us, and we would have no room for worry or fear in our hearts.

The church has taken practically every aspect of this life and turned to the world for the understanding of how to deal with and survive anything that may come our way. And teachings from the pulpit seem to be more and more from a professor’s point of view then a follower of Christ point of view and so much useless information and no real meat, no rubber meeting the road, nothing to take traction when times get rough.

In all, the Holy Spirit has shared with me, and been teaching me over the last three years, it has become evident that the words of Jesus do not need to be redefined they need to be taken to heart applied to our lives and lived out through us each and every day the Lord gives us. Our true job or field of work and responsibility in this world as a Christian is to tell others of the good news of Jesus Christ and Him coming to save us all and His sacrifice on the cross for our sins so that on the day of His return we may go with Him to live with Him forever.

The end of this life is coming, and whether you think you will be taken out of here before, after or during the great tribulation, you need to realize and understand that the Lord may not remove you before you have to go through some real tough times. Do you think you are better than the children of Israel God’s chosen people, He allowed His chosen people to go through rather hard times so that they might be tested and come to repentance and return to Him. Do you really think you are better than them? Be real. Neither you nor i are any better than them, we are all sinners and have fallen short of His instructions that He left for us to follow.

Some have the knowledge and skills to get food, make fires, build shelters, and travel without the aid of standard navigational devices to live successfully through a survival situation; then there are people with little or no survival training that have managed to survive life-threatening circumstances. And others with extensive survival training have died.

The essential ingredient in any situation survival or otherwise is your mental attitude, and if you know who is in control of your life, you are further ahead than most survivalist. Having good survival skills can be helpful even important, and having the will to survive is essential.

But having a determined will to survive and survival skills without a working relationship with the Lord Jesus, you may make it through the rough times but still not survive when your last day in this world comes. All the skills you have learned will serve no benefit or purpose and valuable knowledge will be a waste.

There is an attitude to survival. The person in a survival situation faces many stresses that ultimately will impact their minds. Stress can produce emotions that, if poorly understood, can transform a confident, well-trained person into an indecisive, ineffective individual with a questionable ability to survive. To survive you must be aware of and be able to recognize those stresses commonly associated with survival. It is vital that you have a working relationship with your Lord and Savior, so that His Holy Spirit can lead you in your day by day life, to keep you aware of your reactions to a wide variety of stresses related with survival.

i will explain some of the nature of stress, and their relation with survival, and normal (or worldly) internal reactions most will naturally experience when faced with the stresses of being in a real-live survival situation. And, also the reaction we should have asking and allowing the Holy Spirit to lead, guide and provide for your every need and will hopefully help you prepare so that you will hear these words, “enter in My good and faithful servant.”
