Matthew 5:13-16

“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men."
if you say 'i am a Christian!' have you ever stopped stepped back and taken a look or taste of your salt? have you ever questioned where you stand as being salt? or do you even consider that you are salt?
i had one man tell me "salt is abrasive so i make sure my salt is strong and am abrasive to al!" yes salt is abrasive but salt is also healing, it may burn a bit if you get it in a cut but at the same time it is healing, salt also draws out the flavor in food.
i see our salt as Christians to be a bit abrasive when we share the truth of Christ with the world, but even more so a means for healing, for as a person hears the word of God it may heart a bit to awaken to the truth. The same salt that is a little abrasive to get the cover off the view of ones sin is the same salt that can cause healing once the sin is uncovered. it is all in how one looks at and receives the truth.
5:14-16
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."
Christ has put a light in each whom has asked Him in to their hearts it is the light of God, but God will not break out will and if we chose to hide that light from our fellow man in the end we are the ones who lose out. With the salt of the word of God and the light of God, if we would apply both to every situation the truth would always win out over the evil. and mans soles will be saved.
To do so would take letting the Holy Spirit have full access to EVERY aspect of our lives.
