Matthew 5
3. Poor in spirit = not arrogant, not prideful
4. Mourn = to be devastated by the sin in one’s own life
5. Gentle = loving, kind, not a forceful spirit, not a demanding spirit
6. Those who hunger and thirst for righteousness = a true desire to know the Lord GOD and His commandments
7. merciful = to put others before yourself, to have compassion with others
8. pure in heart = pure motives in what is said and dune
9. peacemaker = to dray together not to cause division
10. persecuted for the sake of righteousness = persecuted for living a righteous life in Christ Jesus, for living by His commandments
11. when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me = standing for the truth of Jesus and His words, living by His Commandments, living a holy upright life in Christ Jesus.
12. In all things even wall being insulted and persecute, when the world falsely says all kinds of evil against you because of Jesus We should rejoice in the Lord and be glad. For it shows we are doing the right thing and truly living out the life Christ Jesus has for us. We are living by the commandments of Christ.
Who we are to be and how we are supposed to live:
13. as a believer in and follower of Christ Jesus we are to be salt to the world = salt may burn but it is a healer. By living in the manner listed above we are to speak and live out the life of Christ to the world.
14-17. we are to be the light of Christ in the world = accepting Christ as Lord in and of our life He asks Father God to send His Spirit to live in us, by excepting Christ we have the light of His Spirit in us.
And we are not to hide that light from the world.
We are to live our lives for Christ as a follower of Christ, so that just as the moon reflect the light from the sun in to the darkness we are to live our life so that it reflects the love and life of the Lord Jesus.
17-20 We are not to alter the words of God, His teachings nor His commandments, we are to live out our live fully embracing His commandments with an attitude of gratefulness, with gratitude for what Father God and His Son Christ Jesus have done for us.
So grateful that we surrender our lives to Him and then live our lives for Him that His glory may be seen through us by the world.
By living in this manner our righteousness will surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, for our lives will not be lived for ourselves but rather for Christ, but if we are living for our own gratification, we will not enter the kingdom of heaven.
Christ is love, we are to live a life reflecting Christ;
Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
love does not seek its own; just as Christ wall in the Garden spoke these words to His father “your will be don” we are to live a life that says to the Lord Jesus even so your will not mine be done.
Matthew 5:20
“For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.”
The scrobes and Pharisees knew the words of Father God but lived lives of arrogates and pride. putting their will and priorities before Gods will, putting themselves first and the Lord second in their own lives to keep their power and authority over the believers in God.
This is why we are to seek first the Kingdome of God and His righteousness, to live our lives by putting Him first in all things, reflecting His light to the world, not our own desires but His.
By living for Christ Jesus, allowing the Holy Spirit to direct our every path, shinning the Lord Jesus through us and not living for ourselves demanding or rights and our authority, we can surpass the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, and enter the kingdom of heaven.
Father God, i come to you in the Name of Your Son Christ Jesus and ask for forgiveness of my arrogant pride, for living for my selves demanding my own way i ask for forgiveness for not putting other before my selves, and not putting You and Your will before my own. Lord thank you for your forgiveness and allowing me to live for You, help me to put You first in my live so greatly that the world would see You in my words and deeds.
Lord You are: the Alpha and the Omega the beginning and the end,
You are Him who is and who was and who is to come,
You are the One who holds the seven angels of the seven churches in His right hand, the One who walks among the seven churches,
You are the one who has the keys of death and of Hades,
You are the one Who was dead, and has come to life,
You are the One who has the sharp two-edged sword,
You are the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and who’s feet are like burnished bronze,
You are who has the seven Spirits of God. You are He who is holy, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens,
You are the Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God.
Lord Jesus be my Lord and saver, thank you for not only being my provider but also my provision, for beyond you i have need of nothing, so i surrender this life you have given me back to you to use as you see fit to bring glory to You not to me.
Amen and Amen.
