First Timothy 6:2
Those who have believers as their masters must not be disrespectful to them because they are brethren, but must serve them all the more, because those who partake of the benefit are believers and beloved. Teach and preach these principles.
{{{ Those who have believers as their masters must not be disrespectful to. In other words, if you are working for another believer do not be disrespectful toward them. You are to give a honest day’s work plus, give your best at all times. }}}
First Timothy 6:3-6
¶ If anyone advocates a different doctrine and does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness, he is conceited and understands nothing; but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, out of which arise envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions, and constant friction between men of depraved mind and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain.
But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment.
{{{ we are told to first seek the Kingdome of God; by following (obeying) the words (the doctrine) of the Lord Jesus Christ, for His words, His doctrine conforms us to godliness.
Any, who teach or preach anything other than the truth, the word of Christ Jesus, are conceited and understand nothing.
(Conceited = arrogant, smug, proud, egotistical, vain, selfish self-important, domineering, pompous)
If you are setting under a teacher/preacher that have these attributes remove your self from under their words. }}}
First Timothy 6:7-10
For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content.
But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction.
For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
{{{ i have found these words to be of great value in everyday life.
“If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content.”
Contentment with the things the Lord Jesus has told us He will provide for us:
Go read Matthew 6:24-34 where in the words of Jesus we are told GOD will provide our need if we are faithful to Him and Him alone.
It starts off with
“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.”
And also says
“But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith!”
And
“Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’
For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” If you have truly surrendered your life to Christ Jesus Father God will provide your needs, the truth of where your faith is planted.
If it is planted in the Lord Jesus Christ, then you will find contentment in what Father God provide for you, and you will not be looking ells where and following the Conceited the arrogant, smug, proud, egotistical, vain, selfish self-important, domineering, pompous. But if you chose to listen to and follow after strange teachings you will end up with strange beliefs and follow after the world and it’s ways. }}}
First Timothy 6:11-16
¶ But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness.
Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who testified the good confession before Pontius Pilate (the political leaders of your time), that you keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which He will bring about at the proper time—He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.
{{{ we are told to flee from these things, what things?
We are to flee from the fault’s teachers from envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions, from constant friction between men of depraved mind, those who do not speak the truth of God word, those that use godliness is a means of gain. We are to flee from those teacher/preachers who are arrogant, smug, proud, egotistical, vain, selfish, self-important, domineering, pompous Instead, we are to pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness.
We are to fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and have made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
We are to keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ.
To Flee is to: to quickly run away from. Reminds me of one of my favorite chapters in the Bible.
Psalm 1
¶ How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law, he meditates day and night.
He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in its season
And its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he prospers.
¶ The wicked are not so,
But they are like chaff which the wind drives away.
Therefore, the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
For the LORD knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the wicked will perish.
Who are you listening to? }}}
First Timothy 6:17-19
¶ Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches,
but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy.
Instruct them to do good,
to be rich in good works,
to be generous and ready to share,
storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future,
so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed.
{{{ rather self-explanatory as believers in and followers our Lord Jesus Christ: we are not to be conceited or have our hope fixed on riches. But rather on God, who richly supplies us with all things.
Our riches are to be in good works, we are to be generous and ready to share what the Lord has given us with fellow believers, storing up our teasers in Heaven, to take hold of the life Christ Jesus has set before us in heaven. }}}
First Timothy 6:20-21
¶ O Timothy (believers in Christ), guard what has been entrusted to you, avoiding worldly and empty chatter and the opposing arguments of what is falsely called “knowledge”— which some have professed and thus gone astray from the faith. Grace be with you.
{{{ Believers in and followers of Christ Jesus:
Guard what Christ has given you.
Stay away from the worldly empty chatter
We are not to take part in arguments with those who do not speak the truth from the bible what is falsely called “knowledge” the knowledge of this world,
the knowledge of the arrogant, smug, proud, egotistical, vain, selfish, self-important, domineering, pompous.
If you call yourself a follower of Christ, then your knowledge should be coming from the word of God the Bible.
And your teacher should be the Holy Spirit.
For when you asked Christ in to your live as your Lord, He Christ went before the Father and asked Him (Father God) to send to dwell in you the Holy Spirit to be your teacher.
John 14:16
“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;"
John 14:26
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.” }}}
And yet aging it comes back to you!
Who will you trust? Whom will you put your faith in?
Will you obey the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ?
Or will you fallow after the ways of the world?
It is up to you whether you enter in or are cast away.
Think about it.
If you are a believer in and follower of the Lord Jesus Chris,
And admit to the sin you harbor in yourself, repent for Christ Jesus is faithful to forgive those who come to Him and ask.
If you don’t ask you can not receive, but also if you ask in doubt you should not expect to receive anything.
Put your faith and trust in Him and be content with what He provides for you.
even unto death.
