The testing of Job

Job 1:6-12
¶ Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them.

The LORD said to Satan,
“From where do you come?”
Then Satan answered the LORD and said,
“From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.”

The LORD said to Satan,
“Have you considered My servant Job?
For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil.”
Then Satan answered the LORD,
“Does Job fear God for nothing?
Have You not made a hedge about him and his house and all that he has, on every side?
You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.
But put forth Your hand now and touch all that he has; he will surely curse You to Your face.”

Then the LORD said to Satan,
“Behold, all that he has is in your power, only do not put forth your hand on him.”
So Satan departed from the presence of the LORD.

{{{{ As the Lord has done for Job He will also do for those who are willing to live a blameless and upright life, those who fear God and turn away from evil.
This is something i think we all struggle with.
But in reality, it shouldn’t be that difficult. It seems we allow the world and its ways to come between us and God , do to weakens on our part, more concerned about what others think and trying to get the acceptance of others rather than only being concerned about what God thinks about us.
My goal is to daily, and moment by moment (to constantly) be aware of my relationship with Christ Jesus, to live a blameless and upright life, fearing GOD not men, and as the Holy Spirit makes me aware of sin in my life. turn from it and turn to the Lord.
For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world but to lose his soul?

Mark 8:34
¶ And He summoned the crowd with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.
For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.
For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?
For what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”
Ho to be a man like Job, so planted in the Lord that what man think of me has no value or impact on my life, to be so grounded in the Lord that obeying His commandments is a daily goal.
So grounded that worldly loos is not the loss of salvation but rather building of my corrector in Christ my Lord. }}}}

Job 1:13-19
¶ Now on the day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house, a messenger came to Job and said,
“The oxen were plowing and the donkeys feeding beside them, and the Sabeans attacked and took them.
They also slew the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”

While he was still speaking, another also came and said,
“The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”

While he was still speaking, another also came and said,
“The Chaldeans formed three bands and made a raid on the camels and took them and slew the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”

While he was still speaking, another also came and said,
“Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house, and behold, a great wind came from across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people and they died, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”

Job 1:20
¶ Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head, and he fell to the ground and worshiped.
“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked I shall return there.
The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away.
Blessed be the name of the LORD.”

{{{{ Job lost every thing that showed worldly worth, worldly value, but yet when told of what has happened he worshiped God.
For He understood that it is the LORD who gave it all to him and it is the LORD who can take it all away, and after loosing so much he could still say “Blessed be the name of the LORD”.
We lose our keys and we think it is the end of the world, we lose a job and we are devastated, we lose a relative or friend to death and we blame God. We are told Job was a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil.

To love the world, man beast or things, more than we love the LORD, to fear the world, mankind, what they say or think or to fear the loss of others or things more than we fear the LORD. Is to lose our soul.

Can it be said of you, (of me) we are blameless and upright, fearing God and turn away from evil.”
Are you blameless and upright, do you fear God have you turned from evil?

Job is an example for us, of the fact that when the Lord Jesus tells us in
Matthew 6:33
“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. If He tells us to seek His kingdom and His righteousness, then they are capable of being obtained.

1Peter 1:13-16
¶ Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written,
“YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.”

1John 3:1-3
¶ See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are.
For this reason, the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.
And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

1 Corinthians 6:16-2 Corinthians 1
1 Corinthians 6:16
Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols?
For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said,
“I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE. Therefore, COME OUT FROM THEIR MIDST AND BE SEPARATE,” says the Lord. “AND DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNCLEAN;
And I will welcome you.
And I will be a father to you,
And you shall be sons and daughters to Me,”
Says the Lord Almighty.
2 Corinthians 7:1
Therefore, having these promises, beloved,
let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

You can find Job in world history and what the bible says is also stated in world history.
Job being a man of God-fearing God more than men having gone through losing everything even family did not sin nor did he blame God.
But spoke these words;
“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked I shall return there.
The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away.
Blessed be the name of the LORD.”

When you go through heard times can you still say
“Bless the name of the LORD”?

It is sad that most of humanity fear the world more than God?
Are you more concerned with what mankind thinks of you then what God thinks?

As we read on, we see that Job’s standing with God is the best place for Him to be.
The question is are we willing to stand in that same place?
Are you willing to live a blameless and upright life?
do you fear God?
have you turned away from evil? }}}}

i know that was a lot of repeating but it is important to understand and apply our lives to.
