How shall i live: part 3
Right from the mouth of Christ Jesus:
The sermon on the mount
Matthew 5:2-12
Jesus opened His mouth and began to teach them, saying,
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
{{ when you read this do you look at it for how you are to be in life,
how you are to live,
or do you just look for what you will get?
The way you read and look at the word of GOD will tell you a lot about your self and your life.
The blessing you will receive, for living a life dedicated to the Lord your GOD is not as important as living the way you need too to receive the gift or blessing.
It is more important to be mindful of and have the characteristics Jesus has spoken of then to be looking for the reward.
For if your time is spend allowing the Holy Spirit to build these characteristics in your life the blessings will automatically follow.
For Jesus said “Blessed are the”
and then spoke the blessing you will receive.
The Lord Jesus will fulfill His word so live in this manner and you will receive. }}
Matthew 5:13
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again?
It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men.”
{{ believers in and followers of The Lord Christ Jesus are salt in this world, salt may heart in a wound, but it also cleans and heals.
With the characteristics listed above you can be salt for Christ Jesus in this world and open a pathway for the Holy Spirit to cleans and heal the souls of others, so they may also find and except Christ Jesus as their LORD. }}
Jesus tells us in:
Matthew 5:14-16
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;
nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket,
but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”
(( when you except Christ, and become a believer in and of Him; He goes before the Fathe (Father GOD) and askes HIM to send you a helper,
the Spirit of truth the Holy Spirit to dwell in you.
John 14:16
“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper,
that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth,
whom the world cannot receive,
because it does not see Him or know Him,
but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.”
The Helper, the Holy Spirit will help you know the truth and how to live it out.
He will help you keep your salt salty and your light bright for all to see. But it is your choice to allow Him to do so. }}
This is where reading the bible and finding the reality of the word of GOD can become a bit scary for some who read it.
But for believers those whom belong to Christ Jesus should wake up and alien their lives to follow His teachings.
Yes, all sin except the sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit can be forgiven,
if you repent and ask.
Why not take the life given to you by what Christ Jesus did for you at the cross and then sealed by coming back to life three days later and live it to the fullest for Him.
Why not be the salt and the light that draws others to Him, so that their lives can be healed and saved?
Why not show a bit of gratitude for whet He has done for you by sharing it with others? }}
In Matthew 5:17-48 Jesus takes the commandments of Father God and takes them from an action to thoughts, showing us that our thoughts are just as important as our actions.
You can hide a lot from the world in your mind that can cause you to sin against GOD,
But you can not hide any thought or action from the sight of GOD.
If you are honest with yourself,
you will realize it is your thoughts that lead you into acting out sin. }}
Matthew 5:17-20
“Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.
For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven;
but whoever keeps and teaches them,
he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.”
(( anyone who adds to or takes from the commandments set forth by Father God and our Lord Christ Jesus shall be called least in the Kingdom of heaven,
why settle for being the least in heaven when you can be called great in His kingdom.
Why not take the effort and time to learn, live and teach others the commandments of GOD.
Not just to gain a better state but to thank the Lord for what He has done for you.
Christ Jesus straight out lets us know unless our righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, we will not enter the kingdom of heaven.
Sounds rather harsh?
Not when Christ has already paid our debt and given us salvation.
So that when we stand before the judgment of GOD Christ will be there standing between us and the Father as our defense having already paid our debt,
and being covered by the blood of Christ Jesus we will be made clean purged of all sin,
holy and blameless before the Father.
Wall we are still on this earth our number one goal should be seeking the Kingdom of God and His righteousness,
we should be the salt and the light for Him,
we should grasp hold of HIS commandments and live by them that is a rather small price to pay compared to what it will cost us if we don’t. }}
Matthew 5:21-26
“You have heard that the ancients were told,
‘YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER’ and ‘Whoever commits murder shall be liable to the court.’
But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the court; and whoever says to his brother, ‘You good-for-nothing,’ shall be guilty before the supreme court; and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell.
Therefore, if you are presenting your offering at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your offering there before the altar and go;
first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your offering.
Make friends quickly with your opponent at law while you are with him on the way, so that your opponent may not hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the officer, and you be thrown into prison.
Truly I say to you, you will not come out of there until you have paid up the last cent.
((({
In Matthew 5 Jesus go on to speak on adultery, divorce, making vows, the saying ‘an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth and about loving your neighbor,
And just as with 5:21 where He speaks on the commandment ‘YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER’ and takes the action of committing murder to the thoughts and words we have and speak.
The act of murder – to include being angry with a brother you are guilty, if you say to a brother,
‘You good-for-nothing,’ you are guilty, and if you say,
‘You fool,’ you shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell.
The act of adultery -- to even looking at a woman with lust, you have already committed adultery with her.
but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
And so on.
At the cross and then His resurrection Christ Jesus sealed our salvation,
freeing us from damnation,
but we have to chose to follow after Hm and His teachings.
Keeping watch on our own lives to make sure are attention is firmly planted on Him and His word, and that we are walking in the path He has sat out for us.
Making sure we are seeking His kingdom and His righteousness surpasses every other thing in our lives.
Romans 12:1-2
Therefore. I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Living with an attitude of gratitude, walking out our lives in the good news of Christ Jesus our LORD. }}}}
Zechariah 8:16
“These are the things which you should do: speak the truth to one another; judge with truth and judgment for peace in your gates.”
Matthew 15:17-20
“Do you not understand that everything that goes into the mouth passes into the stomach, and is eliminated? But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders. These are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man.”
{{{ And in Matthew 5 Jesus shows us that our thought life can be just as damming as our speech and actions.
So, Christ Jesus asked Father GOD to send the Holy Spirit to help us.
And we all need help,
He will help not only help us find the narrow path,
but wil help to stay on it once we find it.
We just need to allow Him to do so.
will you humble yourself before the Lord your God and allow His Holy Spirit of truth do do so? }}}
It is your choice.
