Being made new

Colossians 3:1-4
¶ Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ,
keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.
For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

{{{
If you belong to Christ the things on your mind should be on the things of GOD the things of heaven,
His kingdom, His rightlessness.

Matthew 6:33
“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness.”

Belonging to Christ our minds should be set on things above not on things on this earth.
Yes, we physically live on this earth but we are not to be apart of this earth nor its ways.

Some might put it this way
“so heavenly minded, your no earthly good.”
That is not a bad thing.
Belonging to Christ Jesus fully understanding what He did for you at the cross, your love for Him should be of first important in your life, not what you wear, eat nor positions of things of  this world.

Matthew 6:19-21
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal;
for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

So where is your heart?
With Christ?
Or with this world?

Colossians 3:5-11
¶ Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.
For it is because of these things that the wrath of God will come upon the sons of disobedience, and in them you also once walked, when you were living in them.
But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth.
Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices, and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him— a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ is all, and in all.

{{{{
Our bodies are to be as dead to sin, all sin.
We are to let go of; to remove from our lives; anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech
we are not to lie to one another.

Coming to Christ Jesus our LORD we are to put aside our old ways of living, our old ways of thinking, allowing the Spirit of GOD to cloth us with a new life, renewing us in the truth of GOD that we may reflect the image of Christ Jesus our Lord to each other.
It doesn’t mater who we are or where we come from,
This should be expected of us if we have turn to Christ.
We are to live in the world, but yet not in its ways,
Christ has given everyone the opportunity to do so by giving of Himself on the cross and then rising aging three days later, victories over death and hell.

The thing is; will we totally except Him and turn from the sins and ways of this world, and its ways?

We have been chosen, but will we now choose Him?

Colossians 3:12-17
¶ So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.
Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

Being one who has been chosen of God, one who is considered to be holy and beloved, believers should be willing to give all to Christ Jesus and chose to live with a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience with all who are believers in Christ, with our hearts set to not offend our fellow believers, forgiving each other just as Christ has forgiven us. for just as the Lord forgave us, we also should forgive each other.
Before anything ells, in the body of Christ we should live out love, which is the perfect bond of unity not only in the church but in the world also.
As a Christian, a believer in and follower of Christ Jesus, we should live in the peace of Christ and allow that peace to rule in our hearts, for we were called in one body, the body of Christ Jesus we should be thankful for what Christ Jesus has done for us and for our brothers in Christ.

“Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. .
Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.”

As a Christian, a believer in and follower of Christ Jesus are you willing to let go of all worldly ways and desires to follow and obey His word?
Are you willing to put Him first in all your ways?
Are you willing to live a life thankful being grateful for what He has done for you, a life of gratitude, a life of love forgiving as you have been forgiven?

A body divided can not stand,
A body unified with love can stand and withstand anything that may come its way.
Are you willing to love in this manner?
The body of Christ is to stand together in love through all things, being more concerned of the needs of others in the body then those of their own.

If the Bride; the church of Christ Jesus grasped the teaching of Christ in Colossians 3 And each of us treated one another in this manner what a difference it would make in this world.

i will leave you with this:
1John 3:16
We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
