Joel 2:12-13
“Yet even now,”
declares the LORD,
“Return to Me with all your heart,
And with fasting, weeping and mourning;
And rend your heart and not your garments.”
Now return to the LORD your God,
For He is gracious and compassionate,
Slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness
And relenting of evil.
{{{ To rend: is to tear one’s clothing in anguish,
But the Lord our God desires us to rend our heart not our clothing
to look deep within our self and in anguish rip out those things that are not of GOD.
In anguish: Knowing we are sinners and have failed to obey the Lord our God should bring us to a point of agonizing physical or mental pain.
Regret that brings us to an excruciating distress to have that sin removed from out heart and mind,
Bringing us to great distress with extreme pain or grief,
leaving us with a great desire to be right with our Lord, our GOD So that we are willing to rip even what we see as the smallest sin in our lives out and discard it at the feet of Jesus, so that we may be found escapable in the sight of Father God on that day Christ Jesus returns for His bride.
is your desire to serve Him or your self?
is your heart pure before the lord your God? }}}
