In Matthew 5, 6 and 7 Jesus lays out who and how we should be and then the rest of Mathew gives us examples of how this look in our lives over the next few days or weeks i’m going to go throw 5, 6 and 7 with a very simple study and lay it out. The word of God is not that difficult to understand, and if you have questions ask, but if you are a praying person you can ask the Holy Spirit to guide you through it and He will. As believers Jesus gave each one of us the Holy Spirit to lead us guide us and to teach us. so here we go.

Matthew 5: 1-12

Attributes we should have

  1. And when Jesus saw the multitude, he went up into a mountain: and when he had set, his disciples came to him.
  2. And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
  3. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Those who are not puffed up in them self’s)
  4. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. (Those who grieve and have sorrow concerning their sins)
  5. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. (Those who know in their spirit they cannot do it on their own and humble their hearts and trust to the Lord)
  6. Blessed are they which hunger and thirst for righteousness: for they shall be filled. (Those who spend their days searching and studying the word of God)
  7. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. (Those who are compassionate forgiving gracious and understanding of others and also thankful for what they have been given)
  8. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. (Those who practice the words of Father God staying away from what is sin and evil, moment by moment going to the Lord and repenting of sin as it comes up)
  9. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. (Those who bring the Love of Christ in to a situation, calming a situation not inciting them)
  10. Blessed are they which suffer persecution for righteousness’ sake; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Those who are wronged mistreated and ridiculed for living out the love and life of Christ)
  11. Blessed shall you be when men revile you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
  12. Rejoice and be glad, for great is your reward in heaven: for they did so persecute the Prophets which were before you.

So

  • 1. Don’t think more highly of yourself then you think of others. We are all 5’s on a scale of 1-10
  • 2. Be mindful of your sins, when you sin in humility repent and ask Father God for forgiveness
  • 3. Trust In and on the Lord for all you are, and all you need, and need to be, knowing you have no hope except in Him
  • 4. Spend your days searching out the Lord, spend as much time if not more reading God’s word and praying as you do texting, on the internet, and watching sports and movies
  • 5. Be caring of all who are around you, graciously forgiving those who sin against you just as Christ has forgiven you, treating others with respect
  • 6. Live a life that reflects Christ to others a life without sin, but when you do sin quickly turn to the Lord and repent
  • 7. Always show kindness and merci towards others
  • 8. No matter how unkind or wrong you are treated always show the love of Christ to those who mistreat you

At all times in all situations stay in the presents of the Lord so you maybe loving, kind, forgiving and merciful to others, so that they may see Christ through
