Jesus responded to the devil:
Matthew 4:4
Jesus answered and said,
“It is written,
‘MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE,
BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.’”
Matthew 4:7
Jesus said to him,
“‘YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.’”
Matthew 4:10
Then Jesus said to him
“Go, Satan! For it is written,
‘YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD,
AND SERVE HIM ONLY.’”
{{ When the devil comes and puts temptation in front of us our lives should be being lived in such a manner;
Our lives should be lived in and buy digesting the word of God,
We should live in a manner that we are never do anything to
test the Lord our God,
And we should be living a life that at all times worships the
Lord our God and that serves Him and Him only.
Not our selves not the world and its ways,
but only the Lord our God and Him alone. }}
Matthew 4:17
From that time Jesus began to preach and say,
“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Matthew 4:19
And Jesus said to them,
“Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
{{ Jesus is saying the same thing to us today
O but if we would only listen and chose to listen and follow Him.
For Christ Jesus is saying these very same word to each of us “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” }}
In Matthew 5 Jesus starts teaching each of us how we are to live
1. We are to be poor in spirit.
Not arrogant, prideful, boisterous, loud mouthed rude nor demanding.
Matthew 5:3
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
2. We are to mourn.
Not mournful as if we are lacking,
but rather to mourn when others are mourning to show
compassion on other when they are in need of comfort.
Matthew 5:4
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
3. We are to be gentil.
Not demanding, not having a harsh tong,
but rather showing respect and honor to others
Matthew 5:5
“Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.
4. We are to hunger and thirst for His righteousness.
Matthew 5:6
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they shall be satisfied.
Later on, in the word of GOD Jesus tells us:
Matthew 6:33-34
“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness,
and all these things will be added to you.
So do not worry about tomorrow;
for tomorrow will care for itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own.
O but if we could only remember and live by these words of Chris Jesus,
And seek His Kingdome and His righteousness,
and allow Him to provide for us
rather than felling that we need to do it on our own in our own way.
By seeking to be righteous as Christ is righteous,
we find peace in who He is, in how we are,
and at peace with what He provides for us.
And by seeking His righteousness we find He is all we need,
and the world and its ways just pass away
leaving us with the peace of God.
5. We are to be merciful.
Forgiving to those who do us wrong
Matthew 6:12
‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
{{ Forgive us our transgression’s,
as we also have forgiven those who have transgressed against us.
Forgive us our sin’s, as we also have forgiven those who have sinned against us.
Are you willing to, Are you able to,
forgive those whom you think or feel have done you wrong?
Whether you are willing to admit it or not you have done GOD wrong,
But yet you expect Him to forgive you. }}
6. We are to be pure in heart.
Matthew 5:8
“Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they shall see God.
Is your heart pure?
Are your thoughts toward GOD pure?
Are your thoughts toward others pure?
Or are you plotting, conniving always looking out for yourself?
If your brother or sister are in need,
do you with hold from them,
thinking you are protecting yourself?
Or are you filling your eyes and ears with unpure things,
that in turn fill your mind with unpure images
that in turn cause you to have an unpure mind?
Think about
what you look at, watch, and listen to,
for they fill your mind and make it pure or unpure.
Dedicate your eyes, ears and mind to the Lord Christ Jesus
and the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit) will build in you a pure mind.
7. We are to be Peacemakers.
Matthew 5:9
“Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called sons of God.
Do you work to bring peace when a wrong is committed?
Or are you out for revenge?
Do you bring peace in to a room when you walk in?
Or are you looking for what is wrong and then adding to the problem?
Matthew 5:10-12
“Blessed are those who have been persecuted
for the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you,
and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.
Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great;
for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Can you except persecution when it comes to your walk in the Lord?
Can you except when others tell lies about you and speak evil about you?
Or can you live out the seven things listed above
and be blessed by the Lod GOD.
This sums it all up:
Psalms 1:1-6
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sites in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD;
and in his law doth he meditates day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,
that bringeth forth his fruit in his season;
his leaf also shall not wither;
and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so:
but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
Therefore, the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
For the LORD knows the way of the righteous:
but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Who are you in all this?
The righteous?
Or the ungodly?
Think about it.
