Do you ask for the counsel of the LORD
before you do or agree about something,
before you speak or act?
i have been reading through Johua and the Holy Spirit opened my eyes to something.
Have you ever made a oath with someone with out asking the Lord if you should?
An oath like purchasing something, or doing something?
i believe we all have and probably still do.
We speak words without consulting the Lord our GOD,
and get our selves in over our heads in debt
or our time taken up with things we should not be involved in,
causing our time to be spread so thin
that the things we are supposed to be doing are left neglected
because of an oath, because of a promise,
from words we have spoken.
So, because of words spoken
we fell a responsible to fulfill them
even though we deep down know we were wrong to do so,
and are to week minded to admit it
and ask to be released from them.
The Holy Spirit showed me
that by not taking every decision to the Lord
we can, and the chases are greatly,
that we will constantly be deceived.
Every decision we make weather to do something
or to purchase something we should be taking the time
and present our choices before the Lord our GOD.
And then wait for an answer from Him,
not make a decision with out knowing what He has to say.
It seems that would save us a lot of time and money
to do and be involved in the things of the Lord
rather than the world.
It is so essay to be deceived and miss lead by the world and satin
if we are not speaking to the Lord our GOD
and waiting for His answer
before we speak an oath or promise, or do something.
Joshua 9:14
So the men of Israel took some of their provisions, and did not ask for the counsel of the LORD.
Joshua 9:22
Then Joshua called for them and spoke to them, saying, “Why have you deceived us
Lord open our eyes to see and our ears to hear
to the leading of Your holy Spirit,
help us to turn to you for direction
before we over step our boundaries,
so that we are using the time and wealth
You have given us to use to bring You glory.
Help us to be content
with what You have for us
and to not be searching for acceptance or praise
from this world from unbelievers.
Help us to be humble
so that we may do the right thing.
Amen
