Colossians 3
Then if you have risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits at the right hand of God.

Set your affections on things that are above, and not on things that are on the earth.
For if you are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ which is our life, will appear, then will you also appear with him in glory.

Therefore consider the members of your earthly body’s which are on the earth, as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.
For you should have as little desire for the things of this world as a dead man, so ride yourself of; all fornication; immorality uncleanness; impurity the inordinate affection; wrong passion evil concupiscence; evil desire and covetousness; greed which is idolatry.

For it is on account of these things that the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience.
In these things you also walked in once, when you lived in them. But now you also should put away even all these things,
wrath,
anger,
maliciousness,
cursed speaking; slander
and filthy; abusive speaking out of your mouth.

Do not lie to one another: if you have put off the old man with his evil habits, And have put on the new life, which is renewed in the true knowledge after the image of him that created you,
The new body where there is no difference between Greek or Jew, circumcision or uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, a slave, or a free man: But Christ is all, and in all things.

Now then as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of;
mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering: being merciful to one another, and forgiving one another,
if any man has a quarrel with another: even as Christ forgave you, you are to forgive them.
And above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, for you are all called in to one body; and be thankful:
Let the word of Christ abundantly dwell in you, in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing your own selves, in Psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness and grace in your hearts to the Lord,
And whatever you will do, in word or deed, do it all in the Name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
As Christians we should have as little desire for the things of this world as a dead man.
But what do we desire? A new or bigger home, a new or bigger vehicle, that latest gadget or toy, clothing, tools, books, texting, fame, glory, power, wealth; a bank account, a retirement fund, that person, that thing; whatever it is we are to let it go and only desire Christ and the Father.
Doesn’t matter what it is for if we think we need anything beyond God and His love we are deceived. For that the Lord God is our provider, yes but He is also our provision, and beyond Him we have need of nothing. We are to put off, stay away from all fornication, immoral thoughts and acts, anything impure, improper affection, evil desires, greed, wrath anger, malice, slander, and abusive speech from our mouths.

And we are to nourish and develop a heart of mercies, compassion and kindness, we are to live in humility, we are to be meek, gentle and patience, longsuffering: being merciful to one another, and forgiving one another,

It seems like love to me, for if we are what 1st Corinthians 13 says love is, if we were living in that manner, all of the above would be taken care of.

What is LOVE
1st Corinthians 13:
Love is patient
Love is kind
Love is not jealous
Love does not brag
Love is not arrogant
Love does not act unbecomingly
Love does not seek its own
Love is not provoked
Love does not take into account a wrong suffered
Love does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth
Love bears all things
Love believes all things
Love hopes all things
Love endures all things.
Love never does fall away,
even if prophesying’s was abolished, or the speaking in tongues cease, or knowledge vanish away.

For now we only know in part, and we only prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect, is come, then that which is in part will be abolished.
When I was a child, I spoke as a child: I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
For now we see as through a darkened glass: but then we will see face to face. For now I know in part: but then I will know even as I am known. And now abide faith, hope and love, even these three: but the greatest of these is love.
Love is rather important to Christ; it seems to be the greatest Commandment. Our affections should be for the Father, Christ and to live within His guidance and teachings as we are guided by the Holy Spirit. And sense the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are all one and Christ is love, then that leads me to believe that we are to be love to this world just as Christ has love towards us.

I Corinthians 15:50
The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven.

As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly, so also are those who are heavenly.
Just as we have borne the image of the earthy, we will also bear the image of the heavenly.

Now I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.
Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.
But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written,
“DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP in victory.
“O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?”

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Mathew 5:21
We should not be angry with a brother,
We should not speak of a brother as being empty headed or good for nothing,
And we should not call a brother a fool.
If we have offended a brother we need to go to him and make things right with him before we can approach God, with our offering
i think this has to do with offering up our lives to Him also

Romans 12:1
I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

We should not look upon a woman and lust after her, for that is to have committed adultery with her in our heart. Lust leads to adultery so we should not lust after anything person object or position.

Romans 13:14
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts.

James 4:1
You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. And you are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel.

1st John 2:16-17
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eye and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. And the world is passing away, and also its lust: but the one who does the will of the God abides forever.

We are to speak straight forward not wavering in anything

Mathew 5:37
But let your statement be yes, yes or no, no and anything beyond these is of evil.

We are to return good for evil, and give to those whom ask more then they ask, to be stretched, to allow our lives to be stretched out, willing to serve others.

We are to love our enemies, and pray for those who persecute us, in order that we may be sons of the Father who is in heaven.

We are to treat every one the same, to greet each person we meet the same, with a grateful heart, that we can be Jesus to them.

And that brings us to Matthew 5:48
Therefore you are to be perfect, as you’re heavenly Father is perfect.
This has gotten me in trouble with others before but i truly believe that when the Father put something in His Book, (the bible), like be perfect as He is perfect, then He expects us to do our best to be perfect, as He is perfect.
And for where it is located then i believe that Matthew 5:21-47 explains how we can be perfect, i also believe when Father God tells us to do or not to do something He also gives us the way and ability to follow His instructions.

Recap
  1. we are not to commit murder
  2. Don’t be angry with a brother.
  3. Don’t speak badly of a brother to put them down.
  4. Not to call a brother a fool.
  5. If you have done something to offend a brother go to him and make it right.
  6. Make friends quickly with an opponent at law, if you are being sued settle out of court make it right you can
  7. We are not to commit adultery,
  8. Not to look on a woman to lust after her, or anything else.
  9. We are not to divorce, we are given a way but i believe we are not to divorce.
  10. We are not to make oaths.
  11. We are to have words be truthful and a Yes means yes and our No means no
  12. If anyone sue us we are to give them more then they ask,
  13. We are to be merciful to those whom are friends as well as enemies.
  14. Greet an enemy the same as you would greet a brother; treat everyone with a gracious and joyful heart.

In the world we are taught;
  1. you have the right to say anything you about anyone you want, and it is even more excitable to speak badly about someone then good, and to be angry has become the normal way of life for a lot of people Christian and non-Christian alike. And the normal response if you have offended someone seems to be they need to get over it.
  2. If you are sued do all you can to make people believe you did no wrong and the other person can do no right.
  3. Adultery is not only acceptable but is encouraged in so much of what we see and hear.
  4. Lusting after things including women is shoved at us in almost every ad and show and popular book out there.
  5. That divorce is ok for any and every reason you could possibly think of, and is even encouraged by the government.
  6. We are encouraged to make oaths and to speak in any matter we see fit to accomplish whatever we want.
  7. If we are sued to say whatever it takes to get out of it as long as we don't have to pay then tear down the other person as far as we can, and to get whatever we can out of the situation.
  8. We are taught to show no mercy at any time unless we can get something in return for it.
  9. To not even look at someone much less greet them,
  10. To only be friendly to those that we consider to be our friends or people we think we can get something from.

Which brings us to --- the ways of man are unstable, and the ways men are not the ways of God.

Not an easy path but with the help of Christ Jesus and he Holey Spirit a posable pathe to walk.

be back Monday have a great weekend

Matthew 7:28-29

28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these words, the people were astonished at his doctrine.
29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the Scribes. The teacher with authority; the one who was in the beginning the word.

John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

He was in the beginning with God.
All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.
In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.
The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

Jesus is the word of God, Jesus was with God and Jesus is God, and Jesus was in the beginning with God.
All things came in to being through Jesus, and apart from Jesus nothing came into life that has come into life.
In Jesus was life, and the life was the light of man.
His light shined in the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it.

Jesus speaks with authority because He is the ultimate authority concerning man and creation.
And in His authority He has told us how to live a healthy prosperous life in Him.

We are to be gentle humble spirits, we are to strive after and desire righteousness, kind, forgiving and compassionate towards others, we are to be pure in heart having one goal that is to see Jesus, we are to be peacemakers looking to make peace at all times.
For we will be insulted and persecuted if we fallow Him and they will say flats unkind and evil things against us because of Him.

But when these things happen we should be pleased about it for it shows we are doing the right things. (An enemy will not resist you if you are not a threat to it.)

You are the light and the salt to this world and if you do not let the light of Christ shin through you and are not living a life of Christ your light will be darkness and your salt will have no effect on this world.

Jesus also has not done away with the Ten Commandments He took them from just an action to a state of mind, and to think sinful thoughts are just as bad as doing sinful deeds, the heart and mind are the greatest battel field.

when asked which commandment is the greatest Jesus responded with “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind, and the second is like it, Love your neighbor as yourself”.

Matthew 5,6 and 7 layout how we as Christians are supposed to live our lives if we want to see heaven, it is a narrow path to walk but our guide, the Holy Spirit of Christ has been given to us to lead, guide and teach us throughout our life in Christ.
We could not desire a better guide or teacher then the Spirit of the one with all authority, the Christ Jesus, the one who is the word, the one who is with God, the one who spoke life into being in the earth, the one who gave you your life, as light to shine to all who are around you.

So go forth in grace and let your light shine before men so your heavenly Father may be glorified, and be proud of His children.

If you don't know Christ Jesus all you have to do is open your heart to Him, ask to be forgiven of your sins, and He will be faithful to forgive you. Ask Him to come in to your life surrender all to Him, except His forgiveness, and except His Holy Spirit as your guide and teacher, get involved in a local church that teaches the bible, the word of God find that narrow path and live a free full and long life.

Matthew 7:21-27

21 Not everyone that saith to me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that does my Father’s will which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not by Your Name prophesied, and by Your name cast out devils? and by Your name done many great works?
23 And then will I profess to them, I never knew you, depart from me you that work iniquity.
24 Whosoever then hears My words, and does the same, I will consider him to a wise man, which has built his house on a rock:
25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it does not: for it was grounded on a rock,
26 But whosoever hears these my words, and doeth not fallow them, will be considered a foolish man, which hath built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell, and the fall thereof was great.

What’s your foundation?
Worldly or Godly things?
Rather simple and basic, Keep and live by the word of God and be saved, disobey the word of God and be a foolish man, and be washed away; I never knew you depart from Me you that work iniquity.
It is up to you!
