Fruit / Abiding

John 15

Jesus said:        “He is the vine, God is the vinedresser, and we are the branches.”

God removes branches that do not bear fruit and prunes the ones that do, so they can bear more fruit.

Jesus said;      we are already clean because of the word’s He has given us (all we have to do is except Him and have faith in Him and His word to be cleaned.)

So we can abide in Him and He in us for we cannot bear fruit by ourselves (who can add a single cubit to their life span?) we cannot bring fourth good fruit unless we abide in Him.

If we as Christians abide in Christ we will bear much fruit, Those who do not or no longer abide in Christ will be thrown away.

If we are not abiding in Christ, we will become dry and brittle and only good for the fire.

Jesus also said:     "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you".

If i abide in Jesus and His words abide in me, then what i wish for will be in line with what He has for me.

The Father loves Jesus for He keeps the Fathers commandments, if we will keep Jesus’s commandments we will be in His love.

If we obey Jesus, believe and have faith in Him and His words, His joy will be in us and our joy may be made full.

If we obey Him we are His friend, not servants.

Jesus chose us, and appointed us to bear fruit, and fruit should remain so that we may ask the Father in the name of Jesus, and He may us give what we ask to us.

But we have to be in Him and if we are and He is in us what we will ask for will be in His will, it is not a name it clam it game, we have to do our part to receive from the Lord.

Abiding in Christ, that is spending time in God word (the Bible) and talking with Him, in faith without doubting, in that faith our fruit will grow, our lives will have meaning and be fulfilling.

Our 18 day journey is being interrupted i am leaving tomorrow early am:, going out in to the wilderness of Montana for a week, hiking, camping and if we make it to the high lake even some ice fishing, should be back by May the 11th. So keep the faith, get your bible out and spend the week abiding with Christ.

Lord blessings see you in a week.

Will be back Thursday May 11th    Day 9 Duty

Gifts

1Corinthians 12       There are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit.

He gives

  • The manifestation of the Spirit,
  • The word of knowledge,
  • Faith,
  • The gift of healing,
  • The effecting of miracles,
  • Prophecy,
  • The distinguishing of spirits,
  • Various kinds of tongues,
  • The interpretation of tongues

The one Spirit, the Spirit of God works all these gifts distributing to each one individually just as He wills.

For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body.

You can’t conger up any of these gifts on your own, there are many out there now days that will try and make you believe they have a certain gift, and act like they are functioning in that gift, but if that gift came from anywhere besides the Holy Spirit of Father God, it is of evil not of Good.

A gift is just that a gift, you don’t earn it by doing works for it is a gift freely given by the giver and received by another, but if in the receiving the gift the gift is not excepted, or acknowledged, opened and used it just goes to waste.

Except the gift or gifts given to you by the Holy Spirit; with a heart of gratitude and walk in that gift unashamed daily. Not looking for more because of what someone else may have received.

With a thankful and grateful heart walk in the gift or gifts given you. Be content with what you have.

What are you building on?

1Corinthians 3      Since there is jealousy and strife among you are you not fleshly and are you not walking like mere men? And not like our Lord?

Neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who cases the growth, is everything,

Let each man be careful how he builds his life upon the foundation for no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, with Jesus Christ.

Your life will be tested with fire, for what is left each man will receive a reward but for what is burned, he shall suffer loss, but he himself shall be saved.

You are a temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwells in you. If you destroy the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and you are the temple of God.

Do Not Deceive yourself.      Let no man deceive himself if you thank yourself wise; become foolish that you may become wise.

For the wisdom of the world is foolishness before God.

God is the one who knows and catches the wise in there craftiness.

“The Lord knows the reasoning of the wise that they are useless.”

All things belong to you, you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to Father God.

Wisdom comes from the Lord, to those who ask, in faith not doubting.

Are you building a life full of strife, fear, greed, self, a life always in need, filled with bitterness, jealousy, hate; for all these things will be burned away and cause you loss.

Build your life on the foundation of the Lord with truth, love, self-control, seeking for the Lords rightness, to be holy as He is holy, to not be conformed to this world and its ways but to be transformed by the word of God.

So without doubt in your heart, ask the Lord for wisdom so you can build on His foundation a life that will stand through the testing fire.

Day 5; How to live

(4)

How to live, as told to us by Lord Jesus

The words of Jesus doesn’t need to be dissected

They needs to be read in faith believing in the Lord Jesus

And taken in, and our lives molded to fit them, not they to fit our life’s.

Matthew chapters 3 - 7 starting in

  • Chapter 3: 15 Jesus starts by being baptized by John to fulfill all righteousness.
  • Chapter 4 Jesus is tempted in all ways and responds to the evil one by quoting the words of His Father.
  • Chapters 5 - 7 In Matthew 5:3 Jesus starts laying out how we are to live to please the Father.

Read this not as a book but as if your life depended on it, for it does. Read this and drink it in, Jesus didn’t have to have someone tear His word down or dissect what He said so people would or could understand them. And His words are just as direct, powerful and understandable as the day He first spoke them.

Read Matthew 5 – 7 it should take you day’s if not weeks or months perhaps even a lifetime to eat every word Jesus spoke and allow it to become meat on your bones.

Example; 5:3 – Blessed are the poor in spirit.

If you don’t know who the poor in spirit, or what it means to be poor in spirit, simply stop and take the time to pray, ask the Holy Spirit to help you be this person and keep reading, the Holy Spirit will be faithful to show you, He will open your eyes, heart and soul to understanding as you read.

Don’t get hung up on the words if allow the Holy Spirit to guide you and teach you, (that is His job) you might come to understand that being poor in spirit is when you are not allowing your spirit to be controlled by you, and you’re not living for self, but you are allowing your spirit to be guided by the Holy Spirit of Father God, and you live to serve Him.

That if you are poor in spirit your Spirit will be weak, humble and modest, broken before the Lord allowing His Holy Spirit to be Strong in your life.

Being poor (week) in spirit surrendering your spirit to Christ and allowing His Holy Spirit to guide your life and teach you.

Read with these questions in mind;

1. Am i this person spoken of?

2. Do i live in the manner spoken of?

3. Will i chose to live as the words of Lord Jesus direct me to, or chose to not?

Chaptor 5: 3 – 16

  1. How you should be
  2. Who and what you are in the Lord
  3. How you should live.

Chaptor 5; 17 – 48

  1. Do you live in the Old Testament Ten Commandments? Or
  2. Do you live in the New Testament Ten Commandments?

The difference; take the commandment thou shall not murder (Kill) Old =    Thou shall not kill. (The act of killing another person)

New =    Thou shall not kill, but I say to you, that whosoever is angry with his brother without cause shall be in danger of judgment, and whosoever says to his brother raca shall be in danger of the council, but whosoever shall say, thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Jesus took the commandments from an action to thoughts and emotions, if it is in your heart and mind it is as dangerous for your spirit as the act.

Now read Matthew 5: 17 – 48 Taking the time to be honest with yourself, Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to show you where you stand, and then take what the Holy Spirit shows you, and with His help adjust your life to be molded to His words and His way, to live your life so that you may enter in through the small gate.

If you are honest with Him he will direct your path.

Matthew Chapter 6:

  • 1-4 Giving - which person are you?
  • 5-15 Praying - How do you pray?
  • 16-18 Do you fast, if so how, why?   If not, why not?
  • 19-21 Where do you store your treasure?    What do you consider treasure?
  • 22-23 What do you look at?     What do you allow in to your mind. (TV, movies, internet, magazines, papers) what do you take in to your life, that shows out through your eyes?
  • 24-31 Who do you trust?     And what do you trust for?

Chapter 7 Read it and then honestly ask and answer these questions.

  • Is this me?
  • Am I living the life I should be?

Finding the narrow way that lead to the small gate is much essayer when you allow the Holy Spiritto have authority over your spirit:

"Bleassed are the poor in sprit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind by the words of God, through Christ Jesus, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Take the time to truly find out what the Lord has to say to you, and then live it out each day He has given you.

FAITH

Hebrews 11      Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen

  • By faith men of old gained God’s approval through faith we understand the worlds were created
  • By the words of God, and
  • By faith that things we see are was not made out of things that already were, or are visible, but were in reality created by Father God.
  • By faith Abel offered a sacrifice to God,
  • By faith Enock was taken up by God so he did not see death.

Without faith it is impossible to please God he who comes to God must believe He is, and that He is a rewarded of those who seek Him. By faith Noah built the Ark, On God’s word. By faith Abraham, when called by God, he went, not knowing where he was going. By faith Sarah received the ability to conceive, for she considered God faithful when He promised, having faith in God to do what He said He would do.

“I go to prepare a place for you” Having faith that we will get to that place is essential, for if we truly have faith it is there, we will head for it even now. Faith keeps us from turning back, back to the old life, our old ways. Faith is our strength to keep looking to God to provide for us. ((With a lack of Faith we feel we have to do it ourselves))

If we live in faith we will live in a better place; Totally trusting God and not ourselves or man, And God will not be ashamed to be called our God; for He has prepared a place for us!

Abraham, Isaac, Joseph, Moses, Rahab, Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, all lived with faith in God, and accomplished many great things through God. They were disliked and miss treated by the world and thought of as less than. Men who the word of God says

“men of whom the world was not worthy”.       -Oh to be such a man-

All having gained approval from God through their faith in God, did not receive what was promised.

Because God had provided something better for us, so that apart from us they should not be made perfect.

Since we have so many examples of faith and we have the promises from God.

We need to put aside everything that would cause us to stumble, to doubt the word of God and sin that we allow to so easily entangle us.

Let us run the race that the Lord has set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus who is the author and perfecter of our faith.

Jesus was faithful to the Father unto death on the cross and likewise we should be faithful to Christ, unto death.

For it is written

“My Son, Do not regard lightly the disciplines of the Lord, Nor faint when you are reproved by Him; For those whom the Lord loves He disciplines, And He scourges every son who He receives.”

It is for discipline that you endure;

God deals with you as with a son: for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? So no matter how hard you may think you have it consider it all joy and keep your faith in God. All else is futile. He who doubts is condemned if he partakes, because his partaking is not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin.

Jesus said “Truly I say to you, if you have faith, and do not doubt, you shall do the things I do.”

A double minded man is unstable, in all his ways. Consider it all joy. When you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, That you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts, is like the surf of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. Let not that man expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, Being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Faith is the beginning, and will carry you home in the end, but if you doubt don’t expect anything from the Lord.

Faith:

That God is God,

  • He is the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end,
  • He is the creator of the heavens and the earth,
  • That He created the universe,
  • He created the soul and only
  • He can save or destroy it.
  • He created man and gave him breath,
  • and He can take it away.

Only He knows the day and the hour of His return. That He sat all things in motion.

He as Jesus came to this earth was born of a virgin, died on a cross, and rose againg in three days victorious over death, hell and the grave. Faith in Him, for only He, can save the soul. And only He can totally provide for me.
