Day 13

(12)

Are you partaking with God?

Ephesians 5: 3        Do not let immorality or any impurity or greed even be named among you; as is proper among saints: And there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.

Ephesians 4        For you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

Therefore do not be partakers with them; For you were formally darkness, but now you are light

Learn what is pleasing to the Lord.

And do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them, It is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.

“Awake, sleeper And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine on you.”

So be careful how you walk, not as unwise men, but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. Do not be foolish, But understand what the will of the Lord is.

Tomorrow            (13) Who will you feed?

Day 12

(11)

Prayer

Psalms 23: 1-6

  • The Lord is my shepherd,
  • I shall not want.
  • He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
  • He leads me beside quiet waters.
  • He restores my soul;
  • He guides me in the paths of righteousness, For His name’s sake.
  • Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil;
  • for You are with me;
  • Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
  • You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
  • You have anointed my head with oil;
  • My cup overflows.
  • Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,
  • And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Matthew 6:9-13

  • Our Father who art in heaven,
  • Hallowed be Your name.
  • Your Kingdom come,
  • Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.
  • Give us this day our daily bread.
  • And forgive us our debs, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
  • And do not lead us into temptation,
  • but deliver us from evil.
  • For Yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
  • Amen.

We have been given these two prayers as an example of how we are to pray. Prayer  is very simple, in the word of God we are given examples of both how to pray and how not to pray.

You could put together a whole book just on prayer, Oh I guess that has been done. Or you could read what the lord says about it and keep it simple, and to the point.

We are told that the Lord knows our need and He will provide them if we obey His words, and do not doubt Him.

Matthew 7: 7-11

  • Ask, and it shall be given to you;
  • seek, and you shall find;
  • knock and it shall be opened to you.

        For every one who ask receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it shall be opened Or what man is there among you, when his son shall ask him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he gives him a snake?

Our prayers are not answered for two basic reasons, our doubt and we ask a miss, we ask for what we want not for what need or what the Lord has or wants for us.

Matthew 21:21        And Jesus answered and said to them, “Truly I say to you, if you have the faith, and do not doubt, you shall not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, Be taken up and cast in to the sea, it shall happen”.

If you are in the will of God, Everything you ask for in prayer, believing, in faith without doubt, will be done unto you. But if you have doubts in your heart don’t expect anything from God.

Why should we doubt the creator of the universe? i believe it comes from fearing man more than God.

Day 11

(10)

Love

1Corinthians 13

Love is;

  • Patient, Kind,
  • Not jealous,
  • Does not brag,
  • Is not arrogant,
  • Does not act unbecomingly,
  • Does not seek its own,
  • Is not provoked,
  • Does not take into account a wrong suffered,
  • Does not rejoice in unrighteousness,
  • But rejoices with the truth,
  • Bears all things,
  • Believes all things,
  • Hopes all things,
  • Endures all things,

Love never fails.

The only things that will survive through the end are faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Love the greatest weapon of the Spirit placed in a man. So pray for the love of the Lord will be in you.

Love is an action so practice the list above till you can live it out daily.

Day 10

(9)

The day of Rest

Hebrews 4        The disobedient and unbelief will keep us from entering in to the Lords rest.

There is a Sabbath rest for the people of God and the ones who have entered His rest has himself also rested from his work, as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, so that we may not fall by following their disobedience.

The Sabbath day, i have only of lately come to know what it is, have wasted so many years first spending it for my own gain then spending it in a religious state thinking that church on Sunday fulfilled the requirement of a Sabbath. But it seems church on Sunday is much work, for most, plus much pain and effort to look just right for church and many argue more on Sunday morning than any other morning of the week.

The Sabbath:

  • a day of rest,
  • a good day to fast,
  • a whole day to spend with the Lord.

“Be still and know I Am your God.”

No strife, no burdens, no planning, no adventures.

“Be still and know I Am your God.”

((Which day is the day of rest? It was the last day of the week, whether that is the day you go to church or not you still need to observe that day as the day of rest and rest spending it with the Lord in His word.))

“Be Still”

Made it back, the trip into the wilderness was great, saw deer, elk and wolves. The first two days were warm and sunny, nights cold, then hail, rain and snow for two days and freezing nights then back to warm and sunny with cold nights. Didn’t make it to the lakes so no fishing, but had a great time with grandkids.

Day 9

(8)

Duty

Romans 12        I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, Which is your spiritual service of worship.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is; that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

Do not think more highly of yourself then you ought to think. But think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.

For God has given gifts of prophecy, service, teachers, exhortation, giving and mercy. Let love be in you without hypocrisy.

Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.

Unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, malice, full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, gossipers, slanderers, heaters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful, Although they know the ordinance of God, those that practice such things are worthy of death.

They not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.

So if you are one who partakes in any of these things, even one, then you must approve of them. Check your heart, and be honest with yourself, for God already knows. Choose this day who you will serve. Will you fulfill your duty to the Lord, or serve self? Be devoted to one another in brotherly love.

Give preference to one another in honor; not lagging behind in diligence, be fervent in spirit, serving the Lord rejoice in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted in prayer, contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.

  • Bless those who persecute you, bless and curse not.
  • Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep.
  • Be of the same mind toward one another;
  • Do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly.
  • Do not be wise in your own estimation.
  • Never pay back evil with evil to anyone.
  • Respect what is right in the sight of all men. If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.
  • Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “vengence is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
  • If your enemy is hungry, feed him,
  • If he is thirsty, give him a drink.
  • Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
